Cross-country skiing & biathlon

For decades, Seefeld in Tirol has been known as a cross-country skiing paradise and as one of the best and most popular cross-country regions across Europe. The location at 1,200m above sea level guarantees ideal conditions.
Around 280km of perfectly groomed cross-country trails for classic and skating style are waiting for our guests. The entrance to the trail network is about a 5-minute walk away from our ski hotel in Seefeld.
Thanks to its ideal topographical structure, the trail network provides the best conditions for beginners and professionals. Starting in November, some of the trails are prepared with snow and illuminated at night – so for many skiers, the new cross-country season starts in Seefeld.
To enjoy the trails of Seefeld without bringing everything from home, our partner Schimeier also has the necessary equipment for hire. The complete package with cross-country skis, cross-country boots, and poles is available directly at the entrance to the trail at the Gschwandtkopf lifts.
For all biathlon fans, Seefeld offers also a biathlon facility in the Nordic Competence Center with 9 stalls for small calibre and 5 stands for air rifles. The facility is used both by professionals and by guests. The cross-country ski school of Martin Tauber (a former World Cup pro) also offers courses and workshops.

Sunny skiing in Seefeld: complete with stunning panoramic views!
The ski resort of Seefeld is one of the sunniest ski regions of Tyrol: Due to its altitude, the base stations of the lifts are at 1,200m above sea level, while 30 cable cars and lifts transport our guests up to 2,064m. Over 37 well-groomed slopes for all levels guarantee an excellent ski holiday in Seefeld in Tirol.
Your skiing fun begins at the Rosshütte cable cars. Either the funicular train or heated 6-seater chairlift take you directly to the sunny slopes of the Seefelder Joch and Reither Alm. The fantastic view of Seefeld and the surrounding mountain ranges of the Karwendel, Wetterstein, Stubai, and Ötztal Alps fill the hearts of winter sport fans with joy. The Rosshütte mountain station has a self-service restaurant, a bar, and direct access to the fun park.
The Gschwandtkopf ski resort extends around the famous Seekirchl chapel – the symbol of Seefeld. The area with the blue slopes is ideal for beginners, and a chair lift takes guests up to 1,500m above sea level. Ideal for kids: the children’s lifts which are supported by the local ski school.

Ice skating and curling
Open-air fun on the ice at the Congress Centre in Seefeld
Within walking distance of our hotel, our guests find the open-air ice rink directly at the Congress Centre in Seefeld. All fans of skating will have the time of their lives here, and the necessary equipment is available to rent on site.
Directly adjacent, there are 6 artificial ice rinks for curling, where, among other things, regular guest tournaments are held. Another possibility is the ice trail at the Birkenstüberl in Seefeld, which features 3 ice trails and a highly recommended restaurant serving typical Tyrolean cuisine.
Curling stones can of course be rented locally.
Tobogganing and snowtubing
The toboggan runs in Seefeld and Leutasch – and snowtubing in Scharnitz!
What would a winter holiday be without tobogganing? In the Seefeld region, there are numerous toboggan runs – suitable for all ages. Discover the perfectly groomed toboggan runs in Seefeld and Leutasch, as well as the snowtubing run in Scharnitz.
In many places, toboggans can be borrowed, and various mountain huts provide Tyrolean dishes and mulled wine – together with great views of the picturesque winter resort of Seefeld.

Seefeld is also one of the best destinations for winter hiking and snowshoeing in the entire Alpine region. Our guests have 142km of winter hiking trails at their disposal – a true hiking paradise with breathtaking natural scenery and panoramic views.
Ice fishing
Feel like you’re in Canada while ice fishing at Lake Weidachsee in Leutasch.
Lake Weidachsee in Leutasch is located close to Seefeld in Tirol and offers a unique experience in winter: ice fishing. While better known in more northerly countries, you can also enjoy it here from December to February.
At 1,123m above sea level, a hole is drilled through the ice in the middle of the lake, then you can use a special rod to try your luck.
The adjacent Leutasch fishery is there to help with everything from the fishing licence to equipment rental – all available on site. The fishing centre also has a romantic log fire, where you can enjoy coffee, punch, or hot soup – perfect for warming up after your time on the ice!
